Tips on Finding the Best of the Best Xbox 360 Games

By John Ashbury

All serious gamers know the Xbox 360 as a video game system with top-notch graphics, many choices of games and easy controls. No doubt, when you bought your Xbox 360 game console you most likely purchased some games to go along with it. These games will hold your attention in the weeks to come but trust me when I say that you will soon yearn for more.

Always remember however, that the games that you purchase will go into your game collection. With prices reaching sometimes in the $70 range you do not want to buy just any game you see. Make sure you buy one you will enjoy so that your money is not wasted.

The local store at which you bought your Xbox 360 is a great first place to start looking at games to buy. Make sure to fully browse through all the games to know what is out there whether the store is big or small. You should be able to enjoy the game you bought as soon as you get home which cannot happen if a game is being mailed to you.

However, you must beware of aggressive marketing tactics employed by stores to convince their customers about the supposedly bestseller status of the Xbox 360 game selections. If you see that awards accorded to the game is part and parcel of the box art, then it is most probably true. Buy it before it flied off the shelves and you will be left with regrets.

Another good resource for best Xbox 360 games are online sites that cater to enthusiasts like you. Try the official Xbox 360 homepage at www.xbox.com for reviews on the best games available as well as previews on the upcoming games. At the very least, you will always be updated with what's hot and what's new in the Xbox 360 gaming universe.

In the abovementioned website, you can also enjoy the benefits of the Xbox Live feature. You can purchase cheaper games that will satisfy your gaming lust for weeks on end, with the added benefit of a quick downloading process.

There are also many different websites that review games with critics and other people talking about old and new games. Two of the more popular sites like this are Gamespot and IGN, which have fairly good reviews and features. If the critics are saying it is a good game to buy, it most likely is and would not hurt to listen to them. The ranking system is based usually on a one to ten scale with ten being the best.

All of these different ways of finding Xbox 360 games have their benefits. Doing your research will help you avoid hassles from attendants and being ripped off. Shopping around online and in stores is the only way to find great bargains. Now that is the best thing in the gaming world, saving money while saving the world on your Xbox 360. - 18762

Comparing the Xbox 360 to All those Other Consoles

By Larry Moon

Over the years, Microsoft has had to deal with everything from the Playstation 2 and 3 to the Wii, as well as all the hand held versions out there. This was back when they unleashed their own version calling it the Xbox. It seems like forever ago, but it was around the same time the Nintendo GameCube was getting positive reviews for gearing it towards innocent kids games. It was a hard period of time for Microsoft to sit back and wait to release the ultimate gaming system called the Xbox 360.

For a whole year Microsoft had cornered the market with the Xbox 360, and had record sales. However, Playstation and Nintendo finally caught up with the trend, with Sony releasing the Playstation 3, and Nintendo coming out with the Wii. This was the new 7th generation consoles, and because of that, this is when the console wars really heated up. They heated up because now the consumer was having a hard time trying to figure out where to spend their money, and gave them the best deal. This is how the Xbox stacks up against the competition.

When comparing the 360 to the Nintendo Wii, there really isn't a comparison. Just take a look at the graphics from each console at your local gaming store and you'll see how far ahead the Xbox 360 is in this department. While this may be true, there are similar titles that can be played on both systems, so you ought to compare the controls.

Everything that revolves around the Nintendo Wii deals with the motion sensors. Companies have been trying to perfect this for years, but could never reach the heights that Wii has come to enjoy. Granted, you may not think about it, but the 360 has both wired and wireless controllers. You will find this extremely important when you play first person shooter games like Call of Duty or other exclusive games.

The Wii has been known to have titles that are geared more for an audience of all ages, while the Xbox 360 has been known to cater a bit more to the older audience. Most every system has a few game makers that cater only to that system, however the Wii is said to have special first-person titles designed strictly for their console to generate a new audience.

The PS3, on the other hand is the Xbox 360's closer competitor. Both systems are beefed with some impressive system specifications that are responsible for the great graphics that these consoles produce on their connected screens. The PS3 gains an edge over the Xbox 360 with its Blu-ray support, but the Xbox 360 continues to impress with wonderful visuals that are comparable to PC games that have high-end video cards. While many gamers love to debate which console yields out better graphics, it is easy to conclude that the games look alike at a glance.

However, if you're looking for more exclusive franchises, then the PS3 takes the cake. Then again, if you're looking for more exclusive titles you'll want to get a Xbox 360. While we're unsure of a true winner in this area, we will tell you that the Xbox 360 holds more titles and more positive ratings. So we might want to give them a slight edge over their competition.

However, both systems offer unbelievable game play and depending on what your looking for both consoles will give you a unique gaming experience. At any sense, the Xbox 360 is still a powerful system where you can play loads of great games. - 18762

Alternative Vacations In Scotland

By Andrew Kelly

The country of Scotland has some of the finest countryside in the U.K. making it a most amazing holiday destination. Many visitors to Scotland decide upon Edinburgh for their primary destination, while a smaller number choose something a little different. This article examines Scottish vacations and some of the things to do when in Scotland. The article also introduces the Wickerman Festival.

With an immensely diverse countryside the selection of things to do is endless. Mountain climbing is tremendously popular, as are hill walking vacations. The most common vacations are golf or fishing. With Scotland being the place of origin of golf it should not surprise you that that you are hardly ever too distant from a minimum of one first class golf course. With the Rivers Spey, Tweed and Tay you can almost be certain of an excellent days fishing. But what if you fancy an altogether different vacation?

An increasing number of families are making music festivals their yearly vacation. Even though most music festivals are enormous with the main aim of making cash, there exists a small selection of family music festivals, for example Tartan Heart and the Wickerman Festival.

The Wickerman Festival is an annual music and arts festival takes place on farm land near Dundrennan in the heart of Dumfries & Galloway approximately 5 miles away from the Scottish town of Kirkcudbright. The event celebrates the 1973 cult British movie "The Wicker Man" which the stars Christopher Lee, Edward Woodward, Ingrid Pitt, Britt Ekland and Diane Cilento.

The very first festival took place in July, 2002 and was created by a local man called Sid Ambrose. With little experience of organizing a very large event it is surprising that it still exists, especially when you think about the current economic climate. The festival has altered slightly each year and has an almost cult following itself.

The festival is hugely family friendly it has a great many child orientated activities for example, a mountain biking trek, various fairground rides, face painting and various workshops. This fact can be proven easily by searching MSN, Google or Yahoo for Wickerman Festival 2009 photos or simply pop along to the official Wickerman Festival Gallery.

Not too far from the festival site is Kirkudbright which was where many of the movies locations can be found including Harbour Cottage (the bakery) and High Street Gallery which was used for the post office and sweetshop. You will discover that there are a great many places of interest in the region and it is well worth spending a few days here so that you can visit all of the visitor attractions. Common places in which to stay include Castle Douglas and Dumfries. Bed and breakfast in Scotland is nearly always first class and is also priced very reasonably and far cheaper than staying in a hotel. - 18762
