Blink 182's Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is Not a Sell Out

If you're one of those music lovers who dig fun, funky, feel-good music and likes to have their serving of green humor as well, then you would like Blink 182's Take Off Your Pants and Jacket album.

This is their fourth studio album, released on June 12, 2001. Following the success of Enema of the State and The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show, the American pop-punk band has once again hit gold with this record.

It has spawned hit singles like The Rock Show, First Date, and Stay Together for the Kids. There were about 4.5 million copies sold worldwide and went double platinum in the United States. This was also Blink 182's only album that debuted at the top spot of the Billboard 200 and sold more than 350,000 copies during the first week of release.

In everything that we do, one must always strive for something different, if not better. And this is what Blink 182 has managed to do with this record. Though it still has the same pop-punk sound they were famous for, listeners of the CD will see that the band has exerted more effort to come up with more relevant songs that has more than obscenities in their lyrics. The tracks Stay Together for the Kids, Reckless Abandon, and Shut Up prove this point.

Personally, the band has been able to come out of their shell in this album. The melodies sound good. Each track has very interesting and admirable rifts, and the lyrics have more depth. This is great for a band that has been on the music scene for quite some time. The ability to be able to give your audience something new (and better) will help make you stay longer and keep you interesting.

However, there is always the issue of selling out. For some hard core punk fans, Blink 182 has sold out on their fans with coming up with ballad-type songs, which is really unfair on the band's part. Writing and composing new songs unlike most of their previous works should not be seen as selling out on fans. If anything, it should be seen as an innovation and coming of age.

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is a testament to the band's musicality. If you take the time to really listen to the tracks, you will see that Blink 182 has not abandoned the type of music that made them likeable and famous. There are still songs that are loaded with obscenities and good-natured humor (Happy Holidays, You Bastard and Mother's Day)-something that original Blink 182 fans will truly enjoy.

Most noticeable in the album are the new songs that talks about relationships and feature interesting musical technicalities and powerful and passionate vocals. Anthem Pt. 2 is a very well-written song, way better than Anthem Pt. 1 from the third album. This goes to show that Blink 182 has the chops to write songs that have depth and meaning. Story of a Lonely Guy will surprise you. Aside from the deep emotion you will hear from Tom's vocals, the lyrics are unlike the band has come up before. - 18762

UK funky house music has had a large increase in the number of clubbers supporting the music style. The sudden rise in interest for the genre has resulted in many music producers, artists and deejays acknowledging the growing trend for funky house in the UK. This recognition has meant that funky house music is getting a considerable amount of play across major UK radio stations, nightclubs and music television channels.

Funky house is often referred to by British clubbers as "UK funky", and is a style of electronic dance music. It is heavily influenced by various styles of house music, broken beat, tribal and soca. Funky house tracks generally consist of percussions, synthesizers, samples and soulful vocals.

The widespread success of UK funky House music can be attributed to the unique dance moves associated with the genre. Clubbers throughout the country have taken a liking to these dance moves named "skanks" and many have even upload videos of their attempts to social networking sites such as YouTube. Educate yourself! No matter what level you are at today, you can be and should be learning more. If you are currently studying with a teacher or enrolled in a music program at a high school, college or university, you are on the right track. If you aren't doing this (or if you feel that your current teacher is not helping you enough in reaching your goals) I strongly recommend looking for a new teacher.

I wanted to write great music. Watching the movie Star Wars when I was a kid, reading Lord of the Rings, etc. inspired me as well. There are lots of non musical things that have been inspiring to me.

NEVER GIVE UP! Never say can't. Never say I can't. Never say someday. Never say if... If your IQ is higher than room temperature, if you have all of your fingers and if you really want to succeed, you can.

Discipline yourself. Unlike a sport, you do not have a coach or a trainer to work with you all the time. Nobody is there to make sure you are practicing the way you need to, when you need to, and how often you need to.

You need to be totally self reliant. If this is not a normal part of your personality, fortunately there is help for you. Only you can stop yourself from procrastinating. Take the initiative now to go forward.

Chopin's natural ability was his ability to improvise. He was the master, but he worked very hard to become the virtuoso pianist that he would later become. Chopin also was the master at small forms, but struggled with large scale forms.

In fact, it makes learning things like bar chords an orderly, if still somewhat demanding process. And the result is a very comfortable feeling while doing them, and the proper basis for more advanced techniques, such as keeping a bar down while the other fingers do all sorts of things that demand great control.

For instance, the process may go like this: I notice I have trouble with a fast scale passage in a piece I am playing. I notice a particular note starts disappearing when I reach a certain speed. The note is being missed. I notice the finger responsible for playing that note is the third finger. It is not getting to the note because it is going up in the air in reaction to the second finger being used right before it in that particular scale passage. In other words, it is tensing in reaction to the movement of it's neighboring finger, and I have not been paying attention to it. I realize this is a bad habit that pervades my playing, a third finger that tenses up in reaction to the use of the second finger. - 18762
