Mr. Baseball, Jack Elliot was one of baseball's true superstars. He has seen his better days, and the Yankees have the next superstar waiting in the wings. They make the decision, and trade their ex- star away. To make things worse, they trade him to Japan.

Norma Shearer is cast as a woman who lost the love of her life when he was shot down in WWI. The movie speaks of romances and marriages between Nina and three men, only one of whom she loves. It is about growing old without settling their complications. This is a captivating film, with Shearer at her shining best.
