8 Perfect Video Summaries For Your Entertainment Amusement

By Dale Wilkins

The goal of every Hollywood producer is to put out a movie that is a huge hit. The combination of a good plot with excellent stars and special effects seems to be the recipe for a smash hit. Yet, it doesn't always work and now and then even when a motion picture has all of the components that hypothetically make a sensation, it still fails at the box office. There is no definite process for a Hollywood success.

Rude Boy - Enraged young insurgent Gange is employed by the rock group The Conflict as a roadie. The film is an harsh, realistic, documentary-like personality investigation with phenomenal footage. Rock fans will not be disillusioned, others take heed. Cast includes David Mingay, The Conflict, Ray Gange, John Green, Barry Baker, Terry McQuade, and Caroline Coon. (133 minutes, 1980)

Believe in me - Still another 1970s film that is all about drug problems. Working gal Bisset finds herself completely dependant on speed while living in the East Village section of New York City. Cast includes Michael Sarrazin, Jacqueline Bisset, Jon Cypher, Allen Garfield, and Kurt Dodenhoff. (90 minutes, 1971)

The Stepford Wives - An up to date remake of the 1975 movie of the same name. The town of Stepford, on first look, seems like the perfect place. Everything in Stepford seems perfect. Newcomers to Stepford Joanne and Bobbie are starting to speculate what is happening. Will they figure it out before it is too late?

Slaughter's Big Ripoff - A killer is still playing games with the Mafia in this dull action film. McMahon gives more effort to his role as the mob boss than it is worth. Cast includes Jim Brown, Ed McMahon, Brock Peters, Don Stroud, Gloria Hendry, Dick Anthony Williams, and Art Metrano. (93 minutes, 1973)

Married To The Mob - Angela deMarco is married to mobster Frank deMarco. When Frank passes away, Angela wishes to break away from the mob and start anew. Instead she finds herself being followed by the FBI.

They Were Expendable - One of the finest and most underrated of all WW2 films, based on the real tale of America's PT boat battalion in the Philippines throughout the early nights of the battle. Heartrending, exquisitely detailed production photographed by Joseph August under Ford's unique hand, with real-life Naval Officer Montgomery. Cast includes Robert Montgomery, John Wayne, Donna Reed, Jack Holt, Ward Bond, Leon Ames, Jack Pennick, and Tom Tyler. (135 minutes, 1945)

Kimberley Jim - Little musical of 2 happy-go-lucky gamblers who win a fortune in a fixed poker game, and then have a change of heart. Cast includes Jim Reeves, Madeleine Guide, Clive Pamell, Arthur Swemmer, and Mike Holt. (82 minutes, 1965)

Fantasies - Sloppy hogwash in regards to Derek's and Hooten's attempts to turn a Greek island into a tourist trap. Shot in 1973, while Bo was sixteen. Cast includes Bo Derek, Peter Hooten, Anna Alexiadis, Phaedon Gheorghitis, and Therese Bohlin. (81 minutes, 1981)
