Snake Eyes: When the Secretary of Defense is assassinated while a big heavy fight at an Atlantic City casino is going on, pandemonium breaks out. Local cop Rick Santoro finds himself right in the middle of the mess. The doors are locked and everyone is kept inside the building as they try to quickly solve the crime.
Cry the Beloved Country: Easy going back country pastor voyages to Johannesburg looking for his child when destiny links his road with that of a prosperous, bigoted white landowner. This heart rending tale journals the racial divisiveness at its roots in South Africa, without resorting to preaching. Cast includes Canada Lee, Charles Carson, Sidney Poitier, Geoffrey Eager, Reginald Ngeabo, and Joyce Carey. (111 minutes, 1951)
All about My Mother: After a lady loses her child, she returns to Barcelona, renews a old relationship with a transvestite, and becomes involved with an actress her child adored. White Noise: Jonathan Rivers has lost his wife Anne. Then, he is contacted by a man who claims to have heard Anne's voice, and has a recording of it. Then Jonathan himself captures a recording of Anne's voice, and an image of her on video. Anne's message to Jonathan is to find the brutal killer that took her life, so he won't harm anyone else.
Hollow Man: Sebastian Caine is working on a top-secret assignment for the U.S. government. He is trying to unlock the keys to human invisibility. After succeeding on laboratory animals, he can't resist, and takes the serum himself. He becomes irreversibly invisible, and feels threatened by those trying to cure him.
A Few Good Men: Two Marines are being held responsible for the death of a fellow marine. They claim they were ordered to punish private Santiago, and his death was not intended. Lt. Daniel Kaffee will try to save the marines and get to the bottom of the case.
The Muse: Brooks plays a Hollywood screenwriter who's informed that he's out of touch until he hooks up with a genuine muse Rock, a capricious lady whose performing methods are unorthodox at best. As with tons of Brooks' films, the parts are better than the entire thing, although his gibes at Hollywood are valuable, and some of the cameo appearances which we come observe are extremely funny. Cast includes Albert Brooks, Sharon Rock, Andie MacDowell, Jeff Bridges, Mark Feuerstein, Steven Wright, and Bradley Whitford. (96 minutes, 1999)
