The Air I Breathe: Four overlapping, connect the dots story lines, based on a Chinese proverb and titled "Cheerfulness," "Delight," "Grief," and "Love," make up this mess of a film. Starts out promisingly, as a disgruntled office android Whitaker unintentionally figures out that a horse race has been fixed, then it inexplicably shits into a cartoon like train wreck. Cast includes Kevin Bacon, Julie Delpy, Brendan Fraser, Andy Garcia, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Clark Gregg, Emile Hirsch, Woodland Whitaker, Kelly Hu, Evan Parke, Taylor Nichols, Winner Rivers, and Jon Bernthal. King Lear: This rendition of the Shakespeare catastrophe might be bulky going for the uninitiated, although the result can be a hefty and gratifying experience. Cast includes Paul Scofield, Irene Worth, Jack MacGowran, Alan Webb, Cyril Cusack, and Patrick Magee. (137 minutes, 1971)
Dracula's Daughter: Continuation to the Lugosi classic portrays vampire exercises of Holden. Pichel adds implementing aid as her malevolent manservant. Hillyer, usually a B-Western director, manages to imbue this chiller with a moody, subtly sensual quality. Damon is phenomenal and a well selected cast fills all the roles very well. Cast includes Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Alec Baldwin, Tammy Blanchard, Billy Crudup, Robert De Niro, and John Turturro. There's Something About Mary: Ted has had a crush on Mary since high school. A good friend convinces Ted to search Mary down. So Ted hires a private detective to locate Mary. This sets the stage for a fun comedy romance.
