Medicine Man: Dr. Robert Campbell is doing research in the Amazon jungle, financed by a pharmaceutical company. Campbell claims he has found a cure for cancer. The tests prove out, but there is just one problem, they can't find the plants that the chemicals come from. With the jungle around them being destroyed for development, this cure for cancer might be lost forever.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: A kids lyrical in regards to a flying automobile is one ludicrous journey, with entirely forgettable score and some of the shoddiest visual effects ever. This is loosely based on novel by Ian Fleming. Cast includes Dick VanDyke, Sally Ann Howes, Lionel Jeffiies, Gert Frobe, Anna Quayle, and Benny Hill. (142 minutes, 1968)

The Forgotten: A mother still mourning for her child, who died more than a year ago, is informed that she never even had a child! She declines to trust this and doggedly searches for the truth, which leads her into unexplored places. Cast includes Julianne Moore, Dominic West, Gary Sinise, Anthony Edwards, Alfre Woodani, Linus Roache, Robert Knowledge, and Jessica Hecht. (91 minutes, 2004)
Star Trek: The First Contact: The enterprise is on routine patrol, when Captain Picard is contacted by Starfleet Command, and told that the Borg has entered Federation space, and is headed toward Earth. The Borg's first attack on Earth is stopped. Then the Borg tries something different. It attempts to return to Earth's past, and prevent the events that lead to Earth making first contact with other beings outside the universe.
King David: Dense biblical tale tracks youthful David's life from boyhood battle with Goliath to anxious reign as emperor; only goes awry in second half, where abruptness sabotages narrative. This movie is visually striking, with Donald McAlpine's photography, Carl Davis' music, and hefty positive holdings-in conjunction with momentous behavior by Woodward as Baron Saul. Cast includes Richard Gere, Edward Woodward, Alice Krige, Denis Quilley, Niall Buggy, Cherie Lunghi, Hurd Hatfield, and Jack Klaff. (114 minutes, 1985)
The Formula: This is a remarkably matter-of-truth thriller in regards to a cop who investigates a buddy's kill and finds him connected to a bizarre structure engaging a recipe for artificial energy.
