Alexander's Ragtime Band: Cheesy however amusing musical chronicling the virtuoso and romantic ups and downs of hot-headed aristocrat bandleader Power, fine gentleman and pianist composer Ameche, and hard but vulnerable singer Faye (in one of her best acting jobs). Rent-a-Kid: While the head of an orphanage takes a holiday, dad Nielsen takes over with a plan to raise money by renting out kids. While unsurprising, this stupid premise is surprisingly effective. Eventually 3 youngsters are rented by a hip '90s couple considering adopting. A respectable family flick. Cast includes Leslie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, Matt McCoy, Sherry Miller, and Amos Crawley. Shadowboxer: Hit lady Mirren and her companion Gooding have an irregular personal and virtuoso relation, however he's unprepared for her to make the decision she does when proposed with a task that requires her to shoot a young pregnant woman. The 2 megastars are at their extremely best in this highly unconventional, vicious sleeper, best taken as stylized storytelling and not as a cut of genuine life.
