Kenny Chesney and the person underneath
Kenny Chesney is one of those names that everyone has heard of, and the majority of people have heard one or two of his songs. In 2008, he received the Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year award, which is yet another achievement for his greatness. His laid-back appeal, along with his amazing music, makes his shows realistic and worth take a few hours to see!
Since the beginning of his career, in 1993, he has produced 13 albums. Eleven of these albums were certified Gold and Platinum! Over 30 of the songs, on these albums, have reached the Top 10 hit list. The amazing part of all of this is he still appears to be a laid-back kind of guy - he's got talent and personality.
Chesney was born in 1968 in Knoxville, TN. His mother and father gave him his first guitar when he was 5. This had to have been where his love for music came from! However, Kenny put the guitar down and refused to play as it hurt his fingers. Later, in high school, Kenny played football - still nothing to do with music.
After high school graduation, Chesney went to East Tennessee State University where he was involved in a Bluegrass Program. This is where his love for music began to fester. He saved every penny he made in order to buy himself his second guitar - first one that he uses. Upon college graduation, Kenny Chesney went to Nashville to follow his dreams.
Shortly after his arrival, in 1992, BMI and Opryland Music Group signed him. He had two top hits, right of the bat, "In my Wildest Dreams" and "All I Need to Know". Each of his songs tells a story about a piece of his life, as each one tells of his emotions and during particular events that he has experienced. This personalization is one of the many reasons audiences adore him.
Aside from singing - like many other stars today - Chesney has decided to begin a new venture. Rather than create his own clothing line or patent his own scent, he is planning to create his own Rum. Being the caring person he is he will not do so without consulting his fans. He surveyed his fans - from his site - to find out what they would like to see in this new Rum. Fans from all over are dying to get their hands on it.
Back to his music, one of his more recent shows, in Boston, sold out in less than 10 minutes. With our weak economy, and the fact that consumers are not purchasing entertainment items, this is an amazing feat. His music and charismatic personality, even in these times, is drawing in the fans and the money.
Kenny Chesney has won an exuberant number of awards, some of which include 1997 ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year and 2008 Entertainer of the Year. Many others, such as single of the year, best video, and best male country artist line his bookshelves!
Kenny Chesney has a very charismatic seductive way about him and his voice. He was a way of luring fans in and getting them hooked on how and what he is singing. Even if you are not into country, you may find that you like his performances and many of his songs. Regardless, his shows are not worth missing - get your tickets while you can. - 18762
