The name of the band is exactly who they are - they are three young brothers in the Jonas family. Kevin, the eldest, took the lead and initiative in getting this band together and he plays lead guitar. Joseph is the middle child, is the lead vocalist, and had always aspired to be a comedian not a musician. Nicholas - the youngest - followed his brothers and does an impeccable job with rhythm.
Only 3 1/2 short years ago - in 2005 - was the band even noticed. Columbia executives noticed the band when they heard a song that the youngest - Nick Jonas - and his father had written. Columbia quickly signed the band and released their first album - "It's About Time". Thanks to Columbia, the Jonas Brothers had the luxury of working with people like Desmond child of Aerosmith and Bill Mann of Destiny's Child, on this album.
Hollywood Records later signed with the band to help the produce and release their second album. "Kids of the Future" was one of the songs - off this album - that got the Jonas Brothers a lot of attention. The album also included their cover Disney song - "I Wanna be Like You".
It wasn't long after that their third album - "A Little Bit Longer" - was released to the public. This album contained a number of hits and was the turning point for the Jonas Brothers. Songs like "Burnin Up", "Pushin' Me Away", "Tonight", and "A Little Bit Longer" where number one hits on iTunes for a long period. The release of this album and their new number one hits influenced ticket sales instantly!
The Jonas Brothers are not only known for their music, but the guest appearances on Disney Channel shows - one of which is Hannah Montana. They also starred in one of Disney's original movies - "Camp Rock". They were a band of three - in this movie - that were sent to music camp for a summer (if the shoe fits).
In their short existence as a popular band they have already won a number of awards and honors. They won American Music Awards "Breakthrough Artist" award two short years after being founded - in 2008. That same year they were nominated for a Grammy for "Best New Artists". They have also acquired awards from MTV - Europe Music Awards "New Act" - and Nickelodeon - Kid's Choice Award "Favorite Music Group".
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the Jonas Brothers are going places - very quickly! They captured the hearts of thousands of fans - adults and children. The Jonas Brothers will keep their loyal fan base, for years to come, along with new generations. If you're looking to surprise a child with an excellent birthday present, or just looking for something to do as a family - seeing the Jonas Brothers perform live is a great option. - 18762
