See A Wonderful Movie Today, Try Out These Great Movie Possibilities

By Darla Peck

Motion pictures have been around for decades but it has only been in the past 30 years that we have been able to enjoy films at home. There are millions and millions of videos/DVD's etc. purchased and rented in America every month but now it can be even simpler because it is now feasible to download movies at once to your computer right from your house.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider, The Cradle of Life - Pouting and pillaging in a variety of revealing outfits, Jolie returns as the video-game adventuress who teams up with her gloomy ex in a race to find Pandora's Box before it falls into the hands of a wicked scientist who wants to harness its current to develop biological weapons. Astonishingly clumsy and interminable continuation gives new importance to the word "uninteresting." Cast includes Angelina Jolie, Gerard Butler, Noah Taylor, Christopher Barrie, and Simon Ya. (117 minutes, 2003)

Company of Killers - Gunman (Saxon) performing for Kill Inc. gets to be target for his bosses and the city cops after a key witness is shot down. Bites off more than it can take care of. Cast includes Van Johnson, Ray Milland, John Saxon, Brian Kelly, Fritz Weaver, Clu Gulager, Susan Oliver, Diana Lynn, and Robert Middleton. (88 minutes, 1970)

Seaside Players - Cast includes John Leyton, Mike Same, Freddie and The Dreamers, Ron Moody, and Liz Fraser. Group of adolescents performing at seaside resort dispose for a talent competition which is to be the highlight of the summer season. (94 minutes, 1965)

AI Artificial Intelligence - In the near future, scientist Hurt and his team create a greatly advanced android child who might experience feelings, containing love. His adoption by a nice couple who have lost a child is riddled with problems. This absorbing storyline draws us in, thanks in part to Osment's splendid performance. Cast includes Haley Joel Osment, Jude Law, Frances O'Connor, Brendan Gleeson, Sam Robards, William Hurt, Jake Thomas, Ken Leung, Michael Mantell, and Adrian Grenier. (145 minutes, 2001)

They Only Kill Their Masters - Fantastic cast in troubling modem-night whodunit set in coastal California town; tries for Daniel Hammett sensation, does not relatively make it. Policeman Garner attempts to resolve murder of pregnant female, with fearsome Doberman pinscher figuring prominently. Not poor, however a disappointment. Cast includes James Garner, Katharine Ross, Hal Holbrook, Harry Guardino, June Allyson, Peter Lawford, and Ann Rutherford. (97 minutes, 1972)

Man in The Attic - flavorful account of infamous Jack the Ripper, with Palance going full-blast. Remake of The Lodger. Company includes Jack Palance, Constance Smith, Byron Palmer, Frances Bavier, Rhys Williams, Sean McClory, Isabel Jewell, and Leslie Bradley. (82 minutes, 1954)

Rich and Strange - Kendall and Barry, an unhappily married couple, are presented money and expedition around the world; he has an event with a "princess," when she gets to be romantically attached to an explorer. Cast includes Henry Kendall, Joan Barry, Betty Amann, Percy Marmont, and Elsie Randolph. (83 minutes, 1932)

Down to Earth - Homer Croy's continuation to "They had to See Paris" has nouveau riche Midwesterner Rogers setting an end to his family's mindless investing by affirming that he's broke. Not one of Will Roger's best film attempts. Cast includes Can Rogers, Irene Opulent, Dorothy Jordan, and Mary Carlisle. (73 minutes, 1932) - 18762
