Slaughter's Big Ripoff - A killer is still playing games with the Mafia in this dull action film. McMahon gives more effort to his role as the mob boss than it is worth. Cast includes Jim Brown, Ed McMahon, Brock Peters, Don Stroud, Gloria Hendry, Dick Anthony Williams, and Art Metrano. (93 minutes, 1973)

Bullitt - Perfect McQueen antihero role that he grows to love. As a police officer trying to keep his witness alive. McQueen sees a ton of mayhem as the mafia is out to kill the man he must protect. Cast includes Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughn, Jacqueline Bisset, Don Gordon, and Robert Duvall. (113 minutes, 1968)

Bug - film version of Tracy Letts' play is tough to take seriously however not without a twist or two if you could acknowledge it as a stunt. This is simply bug versus man. Cast includes Ashley Judd, Michael Shannon, Harry Connick, Jr., Lynn Collins, and Brian F. O'Byrne. (101 minutes, 2007)

La Petit Lili - A family's country house is charged with emotion while the hotheaded child, a yearning film maker actor, finds that his lady friend is captivated with his mom's boyfriend, a triumphant head of films. Radiant film empowered by Chekhov's The Seagull, investigating the line between art and life, and how the 2 influence each other. Cast includes Nicole Garcia, Bernard Giraudeau, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Ludivine Sagnier, Robinson Steveniu, Julie Depardieu, Yves Jacques, and Michel Piccoli. (104 minutes, 2003)

Fade-In - Odd little film made concurrently with Blue, in reference to love event between film editor Loden and guy she meets when performing on location. Not extremely great, however a total curiosity on no account discharged theatrically. Cast includes Burt Reynolds, Barbara Loden, Noam Pitlik, Patricia Casey, James Hampton, and Joseph Perry. (93 minutes, 1968)

Nutcracker the Motion Picture - Much of this version of The Nutcracker, acted by the Pacific Norhtwest Ballet, is like a music video with rapid cutting and close-ups of legs, faces, and elbows. This is enormously irritating. However the Tchaikovsky music is, obviously, amazing, as are Maurice Sendak's sets and costumes. Cast includes Hugh Bigney, Vanessa Sharp, Patricia Barker, Wade Walthall, Russell Burnett, and the voice of Julie Harris. (89 minutes, 1986)

Kimberley Jim - Little musical of 2 lighthearted gamblers who win a fortune in a fixed poker game, and then have a change of heart. Cast includes Jim Reeves, Madeleine Guide, Clive Pamell, Arthur Swemmer, and Mike Holt. (82 minutes, 1965)

Lantana - Poignant, mature storyline of relations obstructed by monotony, routine, and absence of articulation. LaPaglia plays a cop, whose marriage has stagnated, leading him to have an affair. In the mean time, he investigates the disappearance of a lady whose own marriage is in danger. The film is beautifully nuanced at every turn. Cast includes Anthony LaLaglia, Geoffrey Hurry, Barbara Hershey, Kerry Armstrong, Rachael Blake, Vince Colosimo, Daniela Farinacci, and Peter Phelps. (121 minutes, 2001) - 18762
