What Has American Idol Done To Karaoke
How many of you remember the first season of a new show called American Idol? Do you remember it? The drama continued to grow as the singing got better and better and more and more people watched because people were spreading the word about how good of a show it was.
Karaoke was always a popular thing and many people enjoyed doing karaoke, but it really took off with the advent of American Idol. People were amazed that a waitress from Texas could come on a show and win a million dollar recording contract. Her life changed and so did the singing industry, including the karaoke industry.
People started to come out of the woodwork to sing to their favorite tunes. It was not long before they were buying up karaoke machines and karaoke cds to start singing along and practicing to become the next American Idol.
If you have never done karaoke, then you are missing out. Sure, at first, it is a bit nerve racking to do, even in the comfort of your own home with only your kids and spouse listening. However, the words move fast across the screen and it is tough to just read the words let alone sing them.
Once you have mastered the singing at home though and you are feeling more confident, then you are ready to try karaoke at a party. It is a good idea to take your own karaoke cds if you are going to do karaoke at a party though. This way, you can make sure that you get to sing some songs that you have already practiced.
It is interesting to watch others do karaoke. Some people are very good singers and they are confident. These people you think should try out for American Idol. Others are not so good but still confident and you hope that they do not attempt to try out for American Idol because they will make the TV edit for the worst singers who thought that they were good.

They realize that they can have a shot to be heard and possibly even win a large contract that could change their life.
