Bullet in the Head: Extreme, highly charged tale of 3 buddies who leave Hong Kong to go to war torn 1967 Vietnam and are drawn into a whirlwind of tough situations that tests their friendship. A film spiritual and over wrought with action footage and altercations that are as daring as anything that Woo has tried onscreen. Cast includes Tony Leung, Jacky Cheung, Waise Lee, Simon Yam, Fennie Yeon, and Yolinda Yan. (136 minutes, 1990)
Staircase: Stun value of Burton and Harrison as a gay couple was all this film had going for it in 1969, and nothing has changed as long as then, with the exception of increased viewer interest. Dudley Moore configured the score. Cast includes Richard Burton, Rex Harrison, Cathleen Nesbitt, and Beatrix Lehmann. (100 minutes, 1969)
Inferno: American returns to N.Y. from school in Rome to examine the hideous death of his sibling, and finds "sinister moms" wreaking paranormal chaos on both sides of Atlantic. Surreal, spellbinding shocker by Italian terror maestro Argento doesn't make much sense, but it has a lot of style. Cast includes Leigh McCloskey, Irene Marvel, Sacha Pitoeff, Daria Nicolodi, Eleonora Giorgi, Veronica Lazar, and Alida Valli. (107 minutes, 1984)
Bolt: This is an animated family adventure film about Bolt, a dog actor. On his TV series Bolt is and action super hero. When he is accidentally shipped to New York, he thinks his super powers will get him home. He teams up with, Mittens the cat, and Rhino the hamster, and tries to get back to Hollywood.
Only While I Laugh: Fun con-game film finds 3 con artists planning to sell a militant African ambassador fragment metal in annunciation cases. Cast includes Richard Attenborough, David Hemmings, Alexandra Stewart, and Nicholas Pennell. (104 minutes, 1968)
Chicken Run: The chickens want to fly the coup in this animated, family comedy. Mrs. Tweedy, the greedy farm owner has other plans, and not only thwarts their escape, but threatens to make chicken pie out of them if egg production doesn't stay up to standards. All hope seems lost until Rocky shows up and helps the chickens make a more elaborate and daring escape attempt.
