A Few Choice Cinematic Film Overviews

By Isabella Kirby

It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. You can get virtually any movie you want with a good movie download site. Here are some examples.

Trader Horn: Early talkie classic filmed largely in Michigan forests still retains lots of enthusiasm in story of war horse local trader Carey confronting tribal contentiousness. Cast includes Harry Carey, Edwina Booth, Duncan Renaldo, Olive Brilliant Carey, Mutia Omoolu, and C. Aubrey Smith. (120 minutes, 1931)

Dust Be My Destiny: Garfield is ideally cast as a disassociated drifter who finds himself in prison, where he falls for the ferocious detention center foreman's stepdaughter (Aisle). The megastars ascend above their less-than original material. Cast includes John Garfield, Priscilla Aisle, Alan Hale, Blunt McHugh, John Litel, Billy Halop, Hemy Armetta, Stanley Ridges, Bobby Jordan, and Charley Grapewin. (88 minutes, 1939)

Natural Born Killers: Mary Mallory is a teenager with an abusive father. After falling in love with Mickey, they viscously murder Mary's parents. Now they are on the run along Rt. 666. As they run, they go on killing sprees, usually leaving one person alive that can recount the events. As time continues they become a media sensation, almost national heroes.

Good Morning Vietnam: Williams is the entire show here, playing an Army disc jockey that turns Military stereo inside out while he's carried to Saigon in 1965. His maniacal monologues are so uproarious that they tote the remainder of the film, which has a weakly created "tale" and often is immature. Evidently the genuine-life Adrian Cronauer, on whom tale was based, wasn't almost as ludicrous or shocking as Williams. Cast includes Robin Williams, Woodland Whitaker, Tung Thanh Tran, and Floyd Vivino. (120 minutes, 1987)

The Negotiator: Expert negotiator Danny Roman has been set up. He is being framed for killing his partner in the department. Feeling he has no other choice, he takes some very specific hostages, and requests a very specific negotiator. The clock is ticking and Danny must act fast in order to prove his innocence.

Malice: This is a complex intrigue thriller. When Dr. Jed Hill performs an emergency surgery on Tracy Safan, who is having abdominal pains, he removes more than he should during the surgery. Accusations and threats of lawsuits fly, but there is even more going on here than it seems.

Rendition: Gyllenhaal, a C.IA analyst in North Africa, is bothered by the U.S. government's clandestine inquiry torment procedures-particularly as long as the alien-born supposed alarmist "rendered" here looks to be an upstanding American native. Witherspoon plays the thankless tinier role of the suspect's distressed spouse back home. In the mean time, a Third Planet Romeo-and-Juliet love tale takes up an inordinate portion of monitor time. Cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep, Alan Arkin, Peter Sarsgaard, J K. Simmons, and Bob Gunton. (122 minutes, 2007)

The Great Profile: Barrymore on downslide grants some snickers in self-mimicking story of aging, arrogant performer. Cast includes John Barrymore, Mary Beth Hughes, Gregory Ratoff, John Payne, Anne Baxter, Lionel Atwill, and Edward Brophy. (82 minutes, 1940)

Misery: Famed writer Paul Sheldon is driving back from his Colorado hideaway after finishing his latest book. He is in a terrible crash, but is rescued by a nurse. She turns out to be his number one fan. What appears to be a Godsend will turn into his worse nightmare.

Okay, if your looking for downloads, try phrases like "Internet Movie Rentals". Not all searches get the right result. If the first one fails to work out try another one. You might find what you are looking for with a search like "Downloading Movies Online". - 18762
