Top Movie Download Reviews
It wasn't that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. Now, with internet usage exploding, movie downloads are becoming very popular. Let's look at what you might find to watch using a movie download site.
The Little Vampire: A 9-year-old California schoolboy moves to Scotland and makes buddies with a 9-year-old vampire who sucks him into his planet and shows him the time of his life. Lipnicki is cute as unconditionally, although Weeks robs the show as his vampire buddy. Cast includes Jonathan Lipnicki, Richard E. Permit, Alice Krige, Anna Popplewell, Jim Carter, John Wood, Pamela Gidley, and Rollo Weeks. (96 minutes, 2000)
Marius: Entertaining, flavorful if a tad too theatrical satire of provincial life, focusing on the love of Marius Fresnay for Fanny Demazis. Raimu is amazing as Cesar, restaurant owner and dad of Marius. All 3 were the structure of the play and film FANNY 1961 Cast includes Raimu, Pierre Fresnay, Charpin, Alida Rouffe, and Drane Demazis. (125 minutes, 1931)
The Big Store: Large bummer for Marxes in a weak film of investigator Groucho examining crooked Dumbrille's variety store. The low spot is Martin's "The Tenement Symphony." Cast includes Charles Riesner, Groucho, Chico and Harpo Marx, Tony Martin, Virginia Grey, and Henry Armetta. (80 minutes, 1941)
March Of The Penguins: Each winter, a remarkable journey takes place. The Emperor penguins come out of the ocean, and march single file through the frozen landscape of Antarctica to their annual breeding. This spectacular documentary follows the penguins on their entire journey to the breeding grounds, through the breeding season, and back to the frozen ocean.
The Hex: Performer Keith steps behind the camcorder to direct this down-home terror film. A lethal meteorite lands on a Tennessee farm, genuinely driving the people insane after contaminating their food. Cast includes Will Wheaton, Claude Akins, Cooper Huckabee, John Schneider, and Amy Wheaton. (90 minutes, 1987)
Dim Sum: Sporadically dull-there are one too numerous shots of vacant spaces--although mainly prudent, charming story of Chinese Americans in San Francisco, concentrating on the dynamics of a mommy-baby girl relation. Characters might be distinctively Chinese, however there's a reinvigorating, knowing universality to this comedy. Cast includes Laureen Gnaw, Kim Gnaw, Champ Wong, Ida F.O. Chung, and Cora Miao. (89 minutes, 1984)
Trackdown: Montana rancher Mitchum comes to L.A. looking for his absconder sis, who's fallen into seamy road life. Not much depth however lots of action. Cast includes Jim Mitchum, Karen Larnm, Anne Archer, Erik Estrada, Cathy Lee Crosby, and Vince Cannon. (98 minutes, 1976)
Skyscraper Wilderness: Fred's a flier on leave who meets photographer Leslie; Benchley's supper talk, Astaire's "One for My Infant" and "My Beaming Hour" make this work. Cast includes Fred Astaire, Joan Leslie, Robert Benchley, Robert Ryan, and Elizabeth Patterson. (103 minutes, 1937)
The Eel: A businessman viciously kills his spouse upon finding that she has been cheating on hi minutes. 8 years later, he is paroled from penitentiary, and might only interconnect to his pet eel, since it can not dishearten or betray hi minutes. Then he spares a female who has tried suicide after a poor love event. Cast Koji Yakusho, Misa Shimizu, Fujio Tsuneta, Mitsuko Baisho, Akira Emoto, Sho Aikawa, and Ken Kobayashi. (117 minutes, 1977)
